Sometimes inspiration strikes without warning
This photo is certainly no exception. When I first started working on ideas for the shoot with SanCat I knew it was going to be something punky, and just a little edgy. Then when going through the photos she sent I noticed an ankh. That set things off and made me want to do do something inspired by Neil Gaiman’s Death from The Sandman comics. I hope to have a full series of these up soon (and moreso work with her again)
Enjoy!

I first met Sarah about 3 years ago at Apple. She and I hit it off instantly and became fast friends. Sarah in her own right is a fantastic artist and is as beautiful on the inside as she is out the outside. I was very excited when she finally agreed to allow me to shoot her. She thought she would be more comfortable shooting with somebody that she didn’t know rather than a person she was very close to. I really challenged her and forced her out of her comfort zone to get what are some of my recent favorite shots. I7ll probably post a few more later on in the week. For now enjoy this first photo from the set!

I met this lovely young lass through a mutual friend. We had been trying to shoot together for about the last 8 months or so. Seemed like things were just not in the stars for us. When we finally were able to shoot everything worked out quite well. I love the simplicity of the shot. A friend of mine upon seeing it said that she loved the photo because it looks like I lit it, even though she knows I don’t do any lighting setups. This particular part of the building had yet been unexplored by me. When her husband described the third floor as looking like something out of Candyman I was of course obliged to take a gander. Enjoy!
